The NAICS code is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction and the size standard is $39.5 million. In accordance with FAR Subpart 36.204, the magnitude of this requirement is estimated to Between $25,000 and $100,000. The finish coat will be the "fine" Renosil (Option Line Item) 30 Days After Award Product/Service Code: Z1QA Product/Service Description: MAINTENANCE OF RESTORATION OF REAL PROPERTY (PUBLIC OR PRIVATE) *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Base Bid Line Item: Remove existing latex paint from all masonry surfaces on the house, approximately 2,100 sq ft. is left. Paint will be removed via stripper that is environmentally friendly and less caustic than industry standards. Products such as smart strip pro and Dumond Peel Away 1 are what the park has used so far and is recommended by our historic preservation center. Winning contractor will submit info on the stripper being used prior to application so that the park may review and approve products before they are used. The building is early 1800's therefore extreme caution must be used in this process as to not damage or destroy the historic fabric of the structure. Therefore, paint must be removed via chemical and not mechanical means. Scrapers, stripper and brushes may be used, the goal is not 100% removal of all paint as there are remains of historical paint underneath the latex. The goal is to provide a good surface for the new paint to adhere to and bond with. Not damaging the existing masonry, mortar and trim is of the utmost importance during the project. Tarps will be placed on the ground at the base of the structure to capture all paint flakes, pieces and chunks. There will be no paint debris left over on the grounds and windowsills Mortar repair will be required for a small section towards the foundation of the building. Water drained inside the building, down the wall and sat in the currently damaged area. The mortar absorbed a tremendous amount of moisture and started to fail. This area will need to be cleaned out, allowed to dry and then new mortar will be installed and repointed in the damaged area. The park will supply the mortar mix that is consistent with the time period and the rest of the building.
