Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Grayling, Michigan. Design plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
As of December 29, 2022, an architect has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: On behalf of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Parks and Recreation Division (PRD), the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) is requesting professional architectural and engineering services for the assessment, design, bidding, and construction administration of the 1) existing Hartwick Pines Visitor Center and 2) historic Hartwick Pines Memorial Building. This request is to provide Phase 200 Program, Phase 300 Schematic Design, Phase 500 Final Design, Phase 600 Construction Administration/Office, and Phase 700 Construction Administration/Field Inspection Services. The DNR Marketing and Outreach Division (MOD) and the Michigan History Center (MHC) commissioned a Long-Range Interpretive Plan, which was issued in 2021. This plan defines the history, existing historic structures, and interpretation message for Hartwick Pines State Park. Both the Hartwick Pines Visitors Center and the historic Edward E. Hartwick Memorial Building are included in the plan. The Interpretive Plan in included as an attachment to this Project Statement.
