Kansas State University is seeking solicitations for bulk propane with price protection for Konza Prairie Biological Station and LTER (Long-Term Environmental Research) program. Bulk Propane for Eight (8) tanks. Five tanks are 1,000-gallon tanks; one tank is 500-gallon tank, one a 250-gallon tank. The seven tanks are at different buildings located at Konza Prairie Biological Station, 100 Konza Prairie Ln, Manhattan KS 66502. Estimated usage is 6000 to 9000 gallons per contract year, 9/1/22 through 8/31/23. Note: all tanks are owned by the Division of Biology and have been deemed safe. Tank Locations: Barn Meeting Facility, building 150 (2 tanks@ 1000 gallons each) Lab Building, building 140 (1 tank @ 500 gallons) Fire House, building 220 (1 tank @ 1000 gallons) Hulbert Center, building 100 (1 tank 1000 gallons) Staff House, building 200 (1 tank @ 1000 gallons) Cottages, building 310 & 320 (1 tank at 1000 gallons) Oven, located behind shipping container, used only Aug-Nov (1 tank @ 250 gallons) If service interruption should occur, vendor must inspect the pressure gauges and relight interior equipment. Vendor is responsible for monitoring tank levels and must refill tank if level has dropped below 25% full. Price protection up to 9,000 gallons and cost per gallon will be a key factor in determining successful bid. Surcharges or fees beyond bulk propane price per gallon are not allowed. Bids are accepted for set price per gallon. Payment is issued based upon usage. Division of Biology will not be obligated to receive or be billed for a particular amount of propane. There is no penalty for gallons not utilized by a certain date.
