The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) is requesting professional architectural engineering services for the design only to improve several items at Ionia Recreation Area. The project scope includes: 1. Sessions Schoolhouse - Assess the six window openings and propose period-correct windows and vandal resistant shutters. Assess the front door and propose a period-correct replacement. Provide construction documents for the windows and entrance door to be fabricated and installed. 2. Beach House Roof - Replace the existing roof which is in poor condition with a steel roof. 3. Main Entrance Road - The main entrance road was replaced in two different phases up to the dam and it is in good shape. The remaining pavement was installed 20 + years ago and is now in various stages of disrepair. PSC to provide a phase 300 assessment of the park's asphalt pavement and provide alternatives for repair/replacement (including full replacement, new pavement on existing gravel base, new pavement on pulverized existing and asphalt repair/chip seal). Project team to review pavement alternatives. PSC to complete bid documents based on recommendations. 4. Campground Electrical System - Upgrade to meet the current/future electrical demands. PSC to inventory and evaluate the existing electrical system. Provide recommendations on 20/30/50 electrical pedestal service locations and paved ADA paved campsites based on PRD standards and staff input. 5. Drain tile fields for both the campground toilet/shower building and campground sanitation station have trees and brush encroaching on the edges. Assess both drain tile fields and cut back brush 50' to 75' from edges. The Department of Natural Resources, Parks & Recreation Division has received federal funds from ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) for this project. To help manage the numerous DNR projects receiving ARPA funds, DTMB is in the process of contracting Construction Management Services from up to 9 different regions in the state. Once the designs are complete the successful Construction Manager assigned to the Ionia Recreation Area will issue the documents for bids and oversee construction. The PSC will be responsible for the design, attending construction progress meetings, issuing bulletins, responding to RFI's, certifying payments, and complying with federal requirements.
