Site work and asbestos abatement for a detention facility in Big Spring, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a detention facility; and for asbestos abatement for a detention facility.

A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Big Spring or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as associated with the ARPA-CLFRF and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. All vendors, contractors, and/or subcontractors who are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project. The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. The City of Big Spring reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. The City will evaluate the proposals to determine which firm(s) has the best qualifications and can adequately meet the project's needs. If a contract is awarded, it will be awarded to a responsible bidder that offers the best value to the City. Bids may be held by the City of Big Spring for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. The City of Big Spring is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Section 3 Residents, Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. This project is being supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number ARPA-CLFRF #4606 awarded to Big Spring by the U.S. Department of the Treasury Disposal fees shall be set at $20 (twenty dollars) per ton by the City of Big Spring. Demolition will not proceed until notice provided to allow for asbestos abatement up to 180 days after bid award.
