Renovation of an educational facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Ridge Walk is one of the primary non-vehicular circulation features of the UC San Diego Campus. The north and south alignment of Ridge Walk traverses five of the six colleges on west campus. The proposed project would include improvements to Ridge Walk by providing the necessary internal structural steel reinforcement of an existing below grade corridor/tunnel linking Urey Hall and Mayer Hall beneath Ridge Walk. Ridge Walk serves as an emergency fire lane to access multiple campus buildings along the campus corridor, however, the existing shallow tunnel constructed in the late 1960's is currently not able to support fire truck loading, therefore creating fire & life safety access issues on campus. Upon completion of the proposed structural reinforcement of the tunnel, fire truck access would be unobstructed along Ridge Walk from Revelle Plaza to Muir Lane. Project Duration : 90 days ALL CONTRACTORS AND SUBCONTRACTORS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS (DIR) AT BID TIME. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
