In general, the work consists of approximately 3,388 sq. yd. of HMA Milling, Unclassified Depth, 461 tons of Hot-Mix Asphalt Surface Course, 9.5M64, 316 sq. yard of Concrete Sidewalk, Reinforced, 4-in. Thick, 248 sq. yd. of Concrete Sidewalk/ Apron Reinforced, 6-in. Thick, 156 sq. yd. of Hot-Mix Asphalt Driveway Surface Course 9.5M64 2 in. Thick and 1,734 lin feet of Granite (Belgian Block) Curb for Kinglsey Street, West Orange, New Jersey. Copies of the Plans and Specifications and other proposed Contract Documents are on file and open to public inspection at the office of the Township Engineer, Department of Public Works, 25 Lakeside Avenue, West Orange, New Jersey, and may be examined and obtained by properly qualified Contractors at this address between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday here is no additional charge should a prospective Bidder request the documents be forwarded by FedEx (using the Bidder's own account number). Each Proposal will be made upon the prescribed forms furnished with the Specifications, and will be accompanied by a Bidder's Certified or Cashier's Check drawn on a solvent bank, in the sum of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, but in no case in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), or in lieu of a Certified or Cashier's Check, a Bid Bond in the same amount prepared on the form of Bid Bond attached hereto, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a Surety Company approved by the Township of West Orange. The Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond acceptable to the Township of West Orange, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract, in conformity with the requirements of the Contract Documents. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of NJSA 10:5-31 et seq. and NJAC 17:27 for an affirmative action program for equal employment opportunity. The contract governing this work is funded by monies received by Essex County Title 1 of the Housing and Urban-Rural Recovery Act of 1983 (P.L. 98-181). Under the said Act the Davis Bacon Act is applicable to the contracted work. Accordingly, the Contractor shall abide by the provisions of the Federal Labor Standards which are included as part of the conditions of the contract.
