Renovation of a fire / police facility in McLean, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
Tysons Police Station - 2024 (Providence District): $32,000,000 is proposed for a new urban model police station in the Tysons area. The existing McLean area Police Station is unable to accommodate the expected growth in the area A 3-acre stie is currently being evaluated for a potential collocation with a Wastewater Pumping Station, a Department of Transportation facility, and the Police Station. The station is estimated to be approximately 27,000 square feet with community engagement rooms. Attributes of the new urban station will include enhanced Neighborhood Patrol Units/Shopping Center, Criminal Investigative staff, and Crime Prevention Officers areas, as well as alternatives to patrol vehicles potentially utilizing segways, motorcycles, bicycles, electric carts, or smart cars. This project is proposed as part of the 2024 Public Safety Bond Referendum. Project is in Fairfax County FY 2023-27 CIP. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
