The BRA owns and operates the East Williamson County Regional Water System Raw Water Intake Pump Station on Granger Lake, in Williamson County, near Taylor, Texas. The lake is owned and operated by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the BRA has an Easement and Water Supply Agreement to withdraw from the lake and operate the Pump Station. The Pump Station was constructed in 2013 on a peninsula at the terminus of Park Road 2 on the south side of the lake. Over the past 9 years the shoreline adjacent to the Pump Station has undergone significant wave action erosion of the marl bedrock and surficial soils comprising the peninsula. The BRA seeks to mitigate the erosion and stabilize the shoreline and slope adjacent to the pump station to protect the building and its appurtenances (access road, security fence, water line) by hard armoring the slope.
