The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), is soliciting qualified Engineering Design Professional teams to provide professional services for the following proposed project: Campus Decarbonization and Electrification Project The University of California system has a policy target to be carbon neutral at all campuses by the year 2025. The goal of the Campus Decarbonization and Electrification Project is to investigate and implement suitable replacement and/or retrofit options for existing campus fossil-fuel energy delivery systems, as well as the systems and equipment that consume that delivered energy. The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) locations include the Main Residential Campus, Westside Research Park, and Coastal Science Campus locations. These three campuses combined have hundreds of buildings, totaling over 5.5 million gross square feet across 2,118 acres, serving approximately 19,250 students and over 3,800 employees. The Campus Decarbonization and Electrification Plan currently has funding committed through the pre-design services phase. Predesign services are estimated at $650,000.00. The University will evaluate the Design Professional team's performance at the completion of pre-design services. Once funding is available UCSC may move forward with the full design using this Design Professional team and also may use this Design Professional team for additional work under the Campus Decarbonization and Electrification Project, performing similar work for other UCSC locations, updating the Campus Electrical Master Plan, or other future energy projects. Interested firms will be required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) and other documentation demonstrating related experience, using standard forms to be provided by the University.
