non-refundable fee for each set. The bid documents will not be mailed, each bidder must purchase them in person.
The work consists of replacement of metal guardrails at the interior staircase and mezzanine floor perimeter with
post-supported railing and guard systems with glass infill panels. Bidders should make an appointment with
Rudolph Pleasant, Capital Improvements Manager of the Library System at (201) 547-5039 for access to the library building. All bids shall be irrevocable not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for period of sixty (60) days. Bid
Proposal MUST BE ACCOMPANIED by a Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, or Certified Check, made payable to the Jersey
City Public Library in the amount equal to ten (10%) Percent of the Bid, but in no case to exceed $20,000.00. Proposal MUST COMPLY WITH SPECIFICATIONS and must be handed to the Library Director when called for at the
time and place aforementioned. Bids must be submitted individually in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Library
Director, Jersey City Free Public Library, with the name of the project and the name of the contractor submitting the
bid on the outside. No bid will be received prior to the hour aforesaid and none will be received thereafter. At such time and place, all bids will be unsealed immediately, the contents thereof will be publicly announced and a proper
record of the prices and terms will be made. No bid will be received by mail or after the bidding is formally closed. The Library Director reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, or portions thereof, if deemed to be in the
best interest of the Jersey City Free Public Library to do so.
