PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND: The intent of this IFB is to obtain a fixed price bid from a qualified Contractor to do exterior painting on (3) buildings located on the grounds of New River Trail State Park. 1. Contractor Shall Prepare and Paint Approximately 333 square feet of vertical exterior wooden boarded windows. 2. Contractor Shall Prepare and Paint (3) three wooden doors. 3. Contractor Shall Prepare and Paint Approximately 220 linear feet of wooden soffits, eaves, and trim along roof and exterior brick walls. 4. Contractor shall repaint porch columns (4) four and approximately 360 sq. ft. of porch ceiling. 5. Contractor Shall Prepare and Paint Approximately 2,400 square feet of metal roofing. Roofing should be considered unstable and contractor will use man-lift to reach areas for painting. 6. Paint color should match the existing hotel and mechanical building roof color. Color to be approved by Park Representative prior to application. 7. Contractor shall agree to have all preparation work approved prior to painting by park staff assigned to oversee job. B. Lot 2-Line 2-Ice House Description (Priority 2): The New River Trail ice house building is an 1880's two-story wooden structure with a board and batten exterior consisting of painted wood. Exterior heights reach approximately 20' in gable ends. Scaffolding or man lift needed to complete work 7. SCOPE OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS: Contractor shall provide a fixed price bid to include but not limited to all equipment, materials, labor, tools, supplies and supervision to perform exterior painting of the "Boys Dorm", "Ice House" and "Depot" and associated exterior fixtures located on the grounds of New River Trail State Park, 116, Orphanage Drive, Max Meadows, Virginia 24360. The Contractor shall obtain, possess, maintain, and comply with all applicable local, state, federal requirements such as licensing, permits, codes, laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and guidelines for providing services as identified. A. Lot 1-Line 1-Boys Dorm Description (Priority 1): The New River Trail Boys Dorm is a 1938 brick two-story structure with a U-shaped covered porch. Windows are boarded up with wooden framing, there are (3) Three doors, a porch ceiling with (4) Four column posts, and the building has a brick exterior. NOTE: This building is presently unused, but public can walk around building.
