Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Spirit River, Alberta. Design plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project.
As part of the Central Peace Regional Water Project; construction of a new water treatment plant (WTP) for the communities of the G5 (to be located near the Town of Spirit River). Other project components include: - Raw Water Storage reservoirs to provide off stream storage of raw water supply for the new regional water treatment hub; - Process wastewater storage pond for storage of water treatment plant backwash wastewater; - Septic Treatment system for the WTP; - Modifications to Spirit River and Rycroft Water Treatment plants and pipelines to become distribution systems; - Design to accommodate future distribution to the G5 existing water plants and future rural water lines for MD of Spirit River; and - Modifications to existing to Rycroft and Town of Spirit River truckfills. TIMELINE: Project is in design. Tender for construction of the raw water reservoirs is currently underway. Tender package for Spirit River Water Treatment Plant upgrades has also been issued. Further update may be available mid-2026. *Budget to be confirmed. *Owners are the municipal governments of the Town of Spirit River, Village of Rycroft, Birch Hills County, MD of Spirit River, and Saddle Hills County (G5)
