The objective of this project is to implement approved fuel management prescription, which describe the recommended fuel management activities and the post-treatment stand conditions. Identified Treatment Unit (TU) is located South of Mamette Lake adjacent to Beech Road and HWY 97C. The total area to be treated is approximately 28.4 hectares. More detail can be found in the attached fuel management prescription included with the RFP package, but the Services under this contract may include, but are not limited to: Spacing, thinning, felling, bucking, pruning, raking, piling, and burning; Danger tree assessment and removing danger trees, or layout of no-work zone(s); Fixing/reinstalling a fence, if damaged by the contractor; Notifying and communicating with existing tenure holders, and private property owners identified in the prescription that there will be a Wildfire Risk Reduction project carried out in the treatment unit and address any concerns from them prior to treatment. This should occur a minimum of 30 days prior to start of treatment. Document any responses and provide these to the Ministry Representative prior to the start-up of the treatment; Maintaining continuous communication with the Ministry Representative pertaining to all operational activities via phone or email; and Submit appropriate Notice of Project to WorkSafeBC. A copy must be provided to the Ministry Representative. Obtaining appropriate cutting authority (FLTC), a pipeline or powerline right of way permit if required, authorization to work in a recreation area if applicable (Application Form 16.3) and burn registration number. Plowing snow during the duration of the treatment to maintain access to TU.
