Demolition, site work and renovation of an educational facility in Montreal, Quebec. Working plans call for the renovation of a 120,000-square-foot, four-story above grade, one-story below grade educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Major upgrades, repairs and improvement to the complex housing the owner's Material Resource Centre at 3700 Rachel Street East and the printing works and spaces adjacent to École Édouard-Montpetit. The scope of the project includes the redevelopment of the interior areas to accommodate meeting spaces, business and industrial use areas with very high, medium and low risk, a skilled trades workshop, storage rooms, premises for the material resources department, gathering and meeting spaces, a cafeteria and vocational training facilities. The scope of the project also includes interior demolition and alterations work and site redevelopment. Note. Initial project value estimated by the owner was as high as $30 million was reduced and will be determined according to the scope that will be finally approved. TIMELINE: Due to funding constraints and the need to make 200-million-dollar budget compression to the school funding system, the Quebec government has put this project on hold. According to the owner's three-year plan for the allocation and use of buildings (PTRDI) this project is classified as being "under analysis" for the period until 2026. Timelines of further project development are not finalized. Further update in fall/winter 2026.
