FY2022 Water Main Replacements in Sycamore Street, Gorham Road, Chester Road, and Chandler Street. The scope of work for the Base Bid includes the construction of approximately, 1,600 linear feet of new 8-inch ductile iron water main, transfer and installation of water services, installation of fire hydrants, abandonment of existing water main, and all other appurtenant work on Sycamore Street and Gorham Road. It also includes transferring water services and installation of fire hydrants on Chester Road. The scope of work for Bid Alternate A includes the construction of approximately 750 linear feet of new 8-inch ductile iron water main, transfer and installation of water services, installation of fire hydrants, abandonment of existing water main, and all other appurtenant work on Chandler Street. Construction for work shall be fully completed within 150 calendar days from the stated date set in the Notice to Proceed, exclusive of winter shutdown, occurring from November 15 to April 15. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid, in accordance with Section 00200, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS Simultaneously with his delivery of the executed Contract, the CONTRACTOR shall furnish a surety bond or bonds as security for faithful performance of this Contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor and materials under this Contract as specified in Section 00700, GENERAL CONDITIONS included herein, each in the amount of 100 percent of its bid. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. The participation goals for this project shall be 15.3% for minorities and 6.9% for women.
