Site work for a water / sewer project in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City owns and maintains many bridge supported cast iron water mains. Six of these bridge supported water mains are out of service due to leaking joints or pipe breaks. This Contract consists of rehabilitation of these bridge crossings over the Midtown Greenway by the modified sliplining process utilizing a fold and form system. Due to the condition of the host pipe the new thermoplastic liner shall be designed as an AWWA Class III semistructural pipe. The thermoplastic liner will be a flexible fiber reinforced pipe (FFRP) that is continuous and close fitting to the host pipe. Due to the condition of the host pipe the new FFRP shall be designed as a fully non-interactive pipe, not relying on the remaining strength of the host pipe to withstand long-term internal pressure. End connectors will be utilized to transition from the FFRP to the existing cast iron water mains. Structural lining of bridge supported water mains over the Mid-Town Greenway
