This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Midway, Utah. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

Midway City recognizes that a program focused on preserving, replacing and planting is essential to a healthy urban forest in the City's public spaces and cemetery. A Tree Management Plan has been developed by a professional arborist to educate and direct the city and its staff in conducting tree maintenance. The city overseas 587 trees and their maintenance. Some need little pruning, some need a lot of structural pruning and some need to be removed due to safety and over- mature status. There are two requirements in this Project, based on the grant awarded from the Community Forestry Partnership by the Department of Natural Resources. 1. All tree pruning and removal contracts funded require an ISA-certified Arborist on staff and overseeing the project. 2. Pruning is best done in winter or early spring, when the tree is dormant, well before buds swell and the tree becomes active. The contract must be completely finished no later than March 31, 2023. It is difficult to bid a large project with tree removal, structural pruning and mulching without an onsite walkthrough. In this case a walkthrough is impractical. Therefore, the project will be bid out at an hourly rate for: 1. Inspect and give recommendations for trees requiring removal versus major structural pruning. The ones most likely to be removed are in the Cemetery or the City Park. The trees are 4 Blue Spruce, 2 Siberian Elms, 2 Boxelder and 1 Rocky Mountain Juniper. Then give an hourly rate for the removal and/or pruning as recommended. 2. Based on the Tree Management Plan 75% of the 587 trees need some type of structural pruning and mulch. Using the Midway Inventory Data spreadsheet as a guide, quote your hourly rate for up to 440 trees requiring some structural pruning and or nutrients. Work can begin as soon as the City Council selects a contractor for the project.
