Replace the bridge carrying Marion Avenue over Humiston Brook due to its deteriorated condition. The proposed improvement includes replacing the existing bridge with a box culvert, upgrading the bridge rail and approach guiderail, relocation of driveways, and installation of storm drainage. The box culvert shall be installed via an accelerated construction process. **NO ONLINE BID SUBMISSIONS** The Town of Southington has initiated this project to replace the bridge carrying Marion Avenue over Hummiston Brook due to its deteriorated condition. The proposed improvement includes replacing the existing bridge with a box culvert, upgrading the bridge rail and approach guiderail, relocation of driveways, and installation of storm drainage. The box culvert shall be installed via an accelerated construction process. The Town of Southington hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation, and that they will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin or sex, in consideration for this award. Bid security in the form of a certified check or a bid bond, on form furnished by the Town of Southington for 10% of the amount of the bid, must accompany each proposal. The Town of Southington reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Performance and Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract price, will be required of the Successful Bidder. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% setaside goals Completion Date: September 8, 2023
