The proposed Project generally consists of installation of approximately 4 miles of a 36-inch diameter steel water main via open cut construction including all valves, fittings, air release valves, maintenance of traffic (MOT) and restoration activities. The project also includes connection to existing mains and master taps. The project begins near MM 79 on Tea Table Key and connects to existing dry line 42-inch water main across Tea Table Relief Channel and continues north along US-1 in Islamorada until just south of Whale Harbor Channel near MM 84. Islamorada Transmission Main - Teatable Relief Subaqueous Crossing - The project consists of installation of approximately 835 linear feet of 42-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) subaqueous water main via horizontal directional drill across the Teatable Relief Channel, including all MOT and restoration activities. Approximately 1,000 LF of HDPE watermain via HDD along Overseas Highway and under the Tea Table Relief Channel.
