Maintenance tests are performed to provide assurance that the equipment tested and inspected is in proper operating condition. As well as maintaining continuous, reliable service; free from unscheduled electrical power interruptions and costly unplanned "down time" maintenance. Protective devices are tested to assure protection against faults, overloads, and/or improper voltage conditions. Circuit breakers and relays are mechanically checked for conformance to manufacturer's specifications. Switchgear control wiring is checked for circuit integrity. Engineers' specifications are followed with regard to relay settings and electrical system operation. The results of these tests when compared to results from future maintenance testing will provide a written track record on the performance of your electrical system. Condition Assessment and Improvement Recommendations for the David C. McCollom Water Treatment Plant (DCMWTP) Project Power Systems Testing Company was awarded the contract to perform maintenance testing of the circuit breakers and switchboards. The testing was performed on May 1st 2017 by Phillip King, Neil Smith, Dustin Mahn and David Hatch. The work was coordinated with Tom Arellano. Equipment that was found with problems of a minor nature, were remedied immediately. Problems that will require additional work for correction are noted on the data sheets. A list of any discrepancies uncovered and recommendations for corrective action appear under the "Results and Recommendations" heading of this report. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
