As of September 13, 2023, the city of Laurens has a buyer for the building on West Main Street but a boutique hotel is no longer in the immediate plans. Project is on hold indefinitely. The City of Laurens, South Carolina is seeking proposals from qualified hotel development, management, and general contractor firms to develop a scale hotel within the city’s thriving downtown area. In addition to noted industry experience and knowledge, the chosen company/companies must be proficient in community facilitation and positive public engagement. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
