Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Rome, New York. Conceptual plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
As of February 17, 2023, information regarding the award and award date has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The project site is the largest contiguous off-street parking site within the downtown. Previously designated the Fort Stanwix Parking Garage, this site is the primary off-street parking area for the one hundred thousand (100,000) +/- annual visitors to the national park site, and directly supports daily traffic for employees and businesses within the downtown. The City of Rome has established a budget for razing the existing parking garage and constructing a new off-street vehicle parking lot of $4.5 million. It's estimated that the demolition of the structure will cost around $1.5 million, and the remaining budget will be used for planning and construction of the new parking facility. The project is funded through the NYS Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Its also anticipated that the planning, development, and construction of potential solar canopies and electric vehicle charging stations will required additional funding resources that are to be sought through programs like NYSERDA NY-Sun, National Grid Take Charge and UNY EV Make-Ready, and NYSDEC ZEV Infrastructure Grant. The selected consultant will undertake the planning and evaluation process of the solar canopy potential. Any questions regarding the RFP should be directed to Matthew Andrews, Deputy Director of Community & Economic Development, at (315)339-7628 or mandrews@romecitygov.com. All questions and requests for additional information must be in writing and include your name, company affiliation, address, phone number, and email address. The City of Rome is not responsible for any failure in the delivery of an inquiry. Consultant selection will be undertaken by a selection committee through evaluation of the submitted proposal materials. The awarded proposal will be based on the prior experience, personnel directly involved, fee, and enthusiasm of the consultant team. The selected consultant will be required to provide professional liability insurance of at least $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate and proof of worker's compensation and disability coverage The selected consultant will be required to enter into a professional services agreement provided by the City of Rome through the Board of Estimate and Contract legislative process. Contractors hired for this project will have to comply with all the provisions of the state assistance agreement. The City of Rome reserves the right to reject any and all proposals in the best interest of the City. The method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
