As of October 24, 2022, 2022, project is on hold. No definite date for the rebid. Purpose: The entire perimeter of the DSFM property is visually marked with fencing. This fencing acts not only as a visual marker but also a deterrent for any would-be trespassers. The fencing along the entire west side of the far west property is currently field fence. The area along this perimeter has been residential up to this point and the fence has seemingly been enough of a deterrent. With recent news of development happening at the corner of Main and Taylor, a new Sheetz gas station will be constructed. Therefore, this area will no longer be zoned residential, but will be a commercial zone that includes a 24/7 facility. In order to remain a visual deterrent and to prevent any of their customers from trespassing on to state property, it is desired to upgrade the fencing in this part of the property. The existing (4ft) field fence should be replaced with 8ft chain link, complete with barbed wire. The existing 6ft chain link should be upgraded to 8ft to match. (See image below. The "yellow" line indicates the existing field fence which goes from the NW corner along the entire west edge. The 8ft fence should go up to the creek, just up to the three culverts which is about 1,000ft. The "orange" line indicates the existing 6ft chain link that should be upgraded to 8ft).
