This project will construct a 10 foot shared use path to connect Richmond Highway at Walmsley Boulevard to Bellemeade Road at Commerce Road using the City's Vision Zero and Better Streets approach. The preferred alignment will include analyzing up to three alignment options and include shoulder / curb and gutter improvements. The shared use path to be provided will offer a multimodal space with buffer zone featuring streetscape and landscaping (e.g., trees or a grass strip) and street furniture (e.g., benches and trash cans) as appropriate. The project will greatly improve the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility of the corridor by providing continuous shared use path and standard ADA features associated with crosswalks and bus stops. This will ensure that non-motorized users of all ages and abilities can use the facility and safely navigate major roadway crossings. As of October 17, 2023, Project is included City of Richmond FY 2024- 2028 CIP, funded for FY2024-2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
