As of May 17, 2024, per owner, this posting was for contingency agreements for engineering services as needed. The Northern Kentucky Water District (NKWD or District) provides water service to over 81,000 residential, commercial, industrial and wholesale customers in Northern Kentucky. The NKWD owns and operates three water treatment plants: the 44 MGD Fort Thomas Treatment Plant, the 10 MGD Taylor Mill Treatment Plant, and the 10 MGD Memorial Parkway Plant. All three plants utilize conventional treatment and free chlorine for a residual disinfectant. The Taylor Mill plant also uses UV disinfection as an added microbial barrier. Advanced treatment using granular activated carbon and UV disinfection is in place at the Fort Thomas and Memorial Parkway plants. In addition NKWD owns and operates 20 water tanks, 13 distribution pumping stations and 3 raw water pumping stations. NKWD also has over 1,300 miles of water main in a 300 square mile area. The NKWD regularly is in need of professional engineering services related to the supply, treatment, and distribution of potable water. To assist in this process, the NKWD is requesting Statements of Qualifications (RFQ) for professional services for the following categories of services:
Category 1 - Treatment Processes and Facilities
Category 2 - SCADA Control, Instrumentation, and Security
Category 3 - Storage Tanks
Category 4 - Pumping Stations
