Renovation of a library in Rancho Mirage, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
Questions are due by 5:00 p.m. SEPTEMBER 29, 2022, and are to be submitted to Charles Nesbit, at charlesn@ranchomirageca.gov. The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Specifications and Contract Documents for the above-stated project. The project is the construction of an art piece display enclosure within the Rancho Mirage Library & Observatory. The enclosure will house a dimensional glass sculpture and base pedestal. The enclosure will be a 4-sided element with a ceiling. It will be integrated with existing reading room improvements. The Work includes selective demolition, new pad footings, framing, storefront enclosures, display lighting, and minor modifications to existing lighting and HVAC controls, fire sprinklers, and new finishes. The enclosure is approximately 120 SF in size. The Work is completely interior to the library building with no square footage being added by these improvements. The library building was originally constructed in 2003. 3. REQUIRED LICENSE: Type Class A and/or a combination of Class (C) specialty licenses At the time of contract award, the prime contractor shall possess a valid Class A contractor's license and/or a combination of Class C specialty contractor's license(s) sufficient to perform the work. The successful bidder must possess a valid contractor's license throughout the duration of the Contract. The Contractor's California State License number shall be clearly stated on the bidder's proposal. 4. DURATION OF WORK: 90 Calendar Days Each bidder's bid must be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: (1) cash; (2) a cashier's check made payable to the City; (3) a certified check made payable to the City; or (4) a bidder's bond executed by a California admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, made payable to the City in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. Such bidder's security must be in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of bid as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed Contract. If Bidder is awarded contract, such bidder will provide the required Performance and Payment Bonds, insurance certificates and any other required documents. In the event of failure to enter into said Contract or provide the necessary documents, said security will be forfeited. The CITY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, to accept any bid or portion thereof, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of sixty (60) days. No bidders will be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, or religion in any consideration leading to the award of contract. Separate payment and performance bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract amount, are required, as set forth in the Contract Documents. To be acceptable, surety companies must be authorized to do business and have an agent for service of process in California, be on the accredited list of the United States Treasury Department and have an "A" policyholder's rating and a financial rating of Class V, or better, in accordance with the current Best's Rating.
