New Braunfels Utilities ("NBU") invites the submittal of responses to this Request for Proposals ("RFP") from qualified firms interested in providing construction services in connection with the construction of Trinity Membrane Treatment Plant and Pump Station Expansion Project (the "Project"). The Project has been designed by Freese and Nichols, Inc. The Project is anticipated to include some or all of the following items within its scope: construction of (i) membrane treatment equipment inside an existing Membrane Building; (ii) a 1.5 million gallon ("MG") ground storage tank ("GST"); (iii) booster pump station expansion with six (6) new 1.5 million gallons per day ("MGD") horizontal split case pumps (including a 150 horsepower ("HP") motor, variable frequency drives ("VFDs"), and associated suction/discharge piping); (iv) approximately 1,500 linear feet ("LF") of new 24" diameter finished water line; (v) a new VFD building with electrical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning ("HVAC") equipment; (vi) chemical feed equipment in an existing Chemical Building; (vii) an additional wet well connected to the existing Trinity Lift Station; (viii) three (3) new generators; (ix) replacement of five (5) programmable logic controller ("PLC") cabinets; (x) control system upgrades at the Enclave Lift Station; (xi) storm water pollution prevention; (xii) paving and site work; and (xiii) all other appurtenances necessary to complete the Project. NBU has established a target commencement date for construction activities of the Project as December 15, 2022. The projected completion date is estimated to be five hundred thirty-six (536) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date. NBU reserves the right to phase the construction of the Project or modify the schedule as needed and determined by the NBU Board or staff due to modifications in scope.
