The City of Aberdeen will receive sealed Bids which require a trade Contractor to provide the necessary services to replace approximately 230 feet of sanitary sewer main, including 2 manholes, 2 sewer service laterals and related work to remove/abandon existing sewer assets on Post Rd. in Aberdeen, MD. In case doubt shall arise as to the meaning or intent of anything in the Invitation to Bid, the Specifications or the Bid Form, inquiry should be made to Shawn Brogan, Procurement Officer, at sbrogan@aberdeenmd.gov, no later than 4:00 PM (EDT) December 21, 2022. A performance bond and a payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price and certificate of insurance from the Bidders insurance carrier and a W-9 are required within ten (10) calendar days from notice-of-award. A bid bond or a certified check in the amount of five (5%) percent of the Bid amount is required with the submission of a Bid. As soon as the Bid prices have been compared, the Owner will return the bonds of all except the three (3) lowest responsible Bidders. The bonds of the two remaining lowest responsible Bidders will be retained until the payment and performance bonds have been provided and approved and the Contract Agreement executed, after which the bid bonds will be returned. A pre-construction meeting will be held with the successful Bidder, shortly after a Bid award is made. The term of the Contract shall be 180 calendar days, with substantial completion at 150 calendar days of receipt of the notice to proceed. The City of Aberdeen reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to make an award, if any, that in their opinion will best suit the needs of the City of Aberdeen.
