ADD2(EN-00232-03-04)14OCT22 This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary to design and construct a fiber optic network from the Western Regional Office (MP G-0.55) to the Gettysburg Pike Interchange (MP 236.00). Work items include, but are not limited to: o Design of fiber optic network to include a backbone and distribution fiber optic cable to various demarcations sites. o Design of fiber optic network to include commercialization fiber optic cable to the limits of the project. o Design, procure, and install all required fiber optic cable, conduit, crossings, and junction boxes. o Install, splice, and test fiber optic cable as required. o Design, procure, and construct conduit and cable attachments to structures. o Obtain all applicable permits. o Conduct agency, utility, and railroad coordination as required. o Maintenance and Protection of Traffic o Erosion and Sedimentation Control Milepost 0.00 is located at the interchange of US 119 and PA Turnpike 66, Milepost G-0.55 is located at the Western Regional Office in the vicinity of Arona Road Interchange, Exit 1, on the Amos K. Hutchinson Bypass (PA Turnpike 66), Milepost 75.00 is located in the vicinity of New Stanton Interchange, Exit 75, and Milepost 236.00 is located in the vicinity of the Gettysburg Pike Interchange, Exit 236, in Westmoreland, Somerset, Bedford, Fulton, Huntingdon, Franklin, and Cumberland Counties. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification in work classification code P4 or designation as a General Highway Contractor and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project.
