Renovation of a municipal facility in Waukegan, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
A bid submitted by a joint venture with more than 10% of business entities meeting these designations may also meet these criteria. All proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier or certified check, or bid bond in form and from a surety satisfactory to Owner, in an amount equal to at least ten percent of the Total Contract Price named in the Schedule of Prices section of the Contract/Proposal form. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in the penal sum of the full amount of the Contract Price, on forms provided by Owner from a surety company acceptable to Owner. Each proposal must be accompanied by a letter from such a surety company stating that it will execute Bonds, on forms provided by Owner, upon award of the Contract to Bidder. Owner reserves the right to make clarifications, corrections, or changes in this Request for Proposals at any time prior to the time proposals are opened. All bidders or prospective bidders will be informed of said clarifications, corrections, or changes. Questions shall be submitted in writing to Public Works Director Chris Garland at chris.garland@waukeganil.gov. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to make an award on those bids which, in its opinion, are most advantageous to the City of Waukegan.
