RFP D/B - Design and Fabrication of Signage The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is in search of a design and fabrication firm to create and install TWO photogenic spaces/locations on campus using our acronym UMES. These letters are expected to be at least six (6) feet tall and whatever width works best for each letter. The University is requesting two (2) distinctively different installations in two very different locations on our 1100-acre campus. We would want a firm to assist us in choosing the two best locations on campus to install these letters and the best manner to install them for longevity and safety. The University is requesting that the proposals include suggestions or recommendations relating to the following: 1. Should there be a concrete pad for the signs 2. Should each letter stand on its own or be part of a whole with all four letters connected 3. Sample Ideas: Should we use part of an airplane to make a letter since UMES has the only 4-year aviation program in the state UMES is the only HBCU to have a PGACertified Golf Management Program, so should a letter be made of recycled golf clubs The campus is an 1890 land-grant university, so should a tractor tire be used Each of the two displays should be unique and take into account the programs offered at the university and be as sustainable as possible.
