The City of Glendale is seeking a qualified Engineering Firm (Consultant) or team to provide construction administration services for the replacement of approximately 4,000 linear feet of existing water main and appurtenant facilities at various locations within the downtown area of the City of Glendale. The project consists of existing water main improvements within downtown Glendale. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: replacement of approximately 4,000 linear feet of existing 4-inch to 12- inch water lines, including associated valves, fire hydrants, and water service lines and connections. Also included is the relocation of fire hydrants and service lines from an existing 6-inch water main, which will be abandoned, to an existing 12-inch ACP water main, located within the same street. The location and depths of all existing utilities will be verified by the contractor prior to the start of construction. Additional information is provided in the Request for Qualifications. The Consultant will work closely with the City Engineering Department, Water Services Department, other City Departments as needed, the Contractor, and the design engineering firm during the construction phase. The Consultant will serve as the City's representative for construction activities once construction starts. The Consultant shall provide a construction representative to observe construction activities, manage all construction related activities, including, but not limited to; daily reports, quality acceptance, review of construction change order requests, respond to requests for information, chair construction progress meetings, review and concurrence of pay requests, coordination of required certificates of completion. The Consultant shall also retain a field copy of the contract documents that reflects the as-built conditions that will be submitted to the EOR for incorporation into the final record drawings. Also included, the facilitation of the city's standard, 1-year and 2-year warranty inspections. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time
