Renovation of an educational facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Replace approximately 1200 linear metres of 500kcM and 150 linear metres of 4/0, 15kV underground cable with new, owner supplied, EPR cable through 20 manholes across the academic campus of UBC Point Grey location. Provide and install new Elastimold cable termination kits within each manhole and kiosk location along with new cable supports. Remove and dispose of old XLPE cable for credit to owner. Provide Traffic Management and Control plan and Confined Space Entry/Rescue resources for working within low hazard confined space manholes throughout the site.) 1. The contractor shall obtain necessary Manhole Entry Permit prior to any (confined space) manhole work. 2. The contractor shall determine the suitability of all ducts to be used in this project by installing a mandrel with a minimum diameter of 3.5 inches. Any ductbank that will not accept a mandrel swab shall be verified as the largest mandrel than can be accommodated. The contractor shall notify UBC Energy & Water Services regarding any ducts that may be blocked. 3. All cables shall be terminated using manufacturer-approved tools and as per UBC Drawing E4-2, located at Campus Energy Center. 6130 Agronomy Road, Vancouver BC V6T 1Z3.
