The Children's Nutrition Research Center was constructed circa 1988 and has been well maintained since then but has not undergone significant renovations. The CNRC is operated by USDA in partnership with the Baylor College of Medicine. As part of an USDA initiative to modernize several key facilities around the country, the CNRC project has been funded to improve the facility's safety, accessibility, infrastructure and aesthetics.
