UCSF Air Handling Units Replacement Scope: This project consist of upgrading two (2) Air Handling Units AHU-1 & AHU-2 on the roof of Byers Hall & replacing replace (4) Air Handling Units (AHU-1, AHU-2, AHU-3 & AHU-4) and upgrade two (2) AHUs (AHU-5 & AHU-6) on the roof of Rock Hall. The scope consist of but is not limited to the following trades: Mechanical, Electrical, Misc. Metal, Roofing (Patches) Etc. MB BH AHUS UPGRADE and MB RH AHUS REPLACEMENT will be awarded together. *The bid list for this project may be incomplete. Project No.: PRJ-000082 / Contract No.: PRJ-000082-CC-003 Project No.: PRJ-000086 / Contract No.: PRJ-000086-CC-002 The scope of this project is to upgrade two (2) Air Handling Units AHU-1 & AHU-2 on the roof of Byers Hall. AHU-1 & AHU-2 serve a common supply plenum. While these AHUs are not 100% redundant depending on the time of the year, the building can function acceptably with one unit operating in the pair. One AHU shall remain operational to maintain airflow to the building while the other unit is being upgraded. Once the first unit has been upgraded, commissioned, and accepted, the second unit can be taken offline for upgrade. 1. These units will maintain the existing structure and casing and internal components shall be removed and replaced with new. 2. Existing internal casing shall be refurbished and coated with a three part epoxy system meeting NFPA 90a (ASTM 84 25/50) and shall have an application thickness of 3/16". Coating system shall be applied on floors and approximately 6" up the walls. The surface shall be antimicrobial. All interior air handling unit walls and ceilings shall be coated with foster 40-20 acrylic coating. This work shall be done by AQUIS (or Equal) by the Contractor. The AQUIS scope of work shall occur after the internal components are installed in AHU - 1 & 2. The new components shall also be coated. 3. Existing supply and return fans including steel supports shall be replaced with a new fan array (fan wall) system and shall require structural modifications for attachment of the new fan wall to the existing AHU structure. 4. The existing heating and cooling coils shall be replaced with new coils. 5. Existing outside air intake louvers shall be replaced with new outside air intake. Housing with louver and filter/mist eliminators in stainless steel rack. 6. Existing filter banks and filters shall be replaced with new. 7. Existing return air and exhaust air dampers shall be replaced with new. 8. All lighting, electrical, controls wiring, and conduit shall be replaced. 9. The scope of this project shall include the replacement of all temperature controls within the AHU. Existing controls such as duct pressure sensors utilized by the AHU. Controllers shall not be replaced and just wired back into the new AHU controls. 10. Existing variable frequency drives (VFDs) shall be replaced with new. Redundant VFDs shall be provided for each VFD. 11. Provide required structural modifications to install new internal components to existing AHU structure.
