Sealed Proposals for: Uniondale Union Free School District Building Additions & Interior Alterations at Turtle Hook Middle School Contract E Electrical Work Make Deposit Check Payable to the Uniondale Union Free School District. Bidders Deposit Will Be Refunded if the Set is Returned in Good Condition Within Thirty (30) Days Following the Award of the Contract or the Rejection of the Bids Covered by Such Plans and Specifications. Non-bidders Shall Receive Partial Reimbursement, in an Amount Equal to the Amount of the Deposit, Less the Actual Cost of Reproduction of the Documents if the Set is Returned in Good Condition Within Thirty (30) Days Following the Award of the Contract or the Rejection of the Bids Covered by Such Plans and Specifications. Any Bidder Requiring Documents to Be Shipped Shall Make Arrangements With the Printer and Pay for All Packaging and Shipping Costs. All Bid Addenda Will Be Transmitted to Registered Plan Holders via Email and Will Be Available at electronically Plan Holders Who Have Paid for Hard Copies of the Bid Documents Will Need to Make the Determination if Hard Copies of the Addenda Are Required for Their Use, and Coordinate Directly With Revplans for Hardcopies of Addenda to Be Issued. There Will Be No Charge of Registered Plan Holders to Obtain Hard Copies of the Bid Addenda. Bids Must Be Made in the Standard Proposal Form in the Manner Designated Therein and as Required by the Specifications That Must Be Enclosed in Sealed Envelopes Bearing the Name of the Job and Name and Address of the Bidder on the Outside, Addressed to: Uniondale Union Free School District, Clearly Marked on the Outside: Bid for: Building Additions & Interior Alterations Turtle Hook Middle School. Each Proposal Submitted Must Be Accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond, Made Payable to the Uniondale Union Free School District, in an Amount Equal to Five Percent (5%) of the Total Amount of the Bid, as a Commitment by the Bidder That, if Its Bid is Accepted, It Will Enter Into a Contract to Perform the Work and Will Execute Such Further Security as May Be Required for the Faithful Performance of the Contract. Certification of Bonding Company is Required for This Bid, See Instructions for Bidders Section. Each Bidder Shall Agree to Hold His/her Bid Price for Forty-five (45) Days After the Formal Bid Opening. All Attendees Will Be Given a Temperature Check and Are Required to Fill Out the District Health Screening Questionnaire Related to Covid-19 Prior to Joining the Walk Thru electronically It is the Board's Intention to Award the Contracts to the Lowest Qualified Bidder Providing the Required Security Who Can Meet the Experience, Technical and Budget Requirements. The Board Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids, Waive Any Informality and to Accept Such Bid Which, in the Opinion of the Board, is in the Best Interests of the School District. The bid schedule reflects the phasing and overall construction schedule for the four (4) new additions, Existing Building Interior Renovations and all miscellaneous Site/Civil work. The new construction logistics requires a temporary construction access entrance to roadways, contractor parking, and construction trailers and laydown areas that feed the four new additions. Construction site fencing must be installed to allow students ample access to outside areas of hard and soft services to play. At Addition #1 (Auxiliary Gym & Classrooms), one existing exterior door will be closed off during construction and an adjacent new temporary egress corridor and double door exit will be created. At Addition #3 (2 nd Floor Classroom Addition) an exterior access stair tower for contractors and deliveries will need to be erected at the perimeter of the Addition. Exact location to be determined. At Addition #2A (General Purpose and Orchestra) two new temporary new egress doors will be created during construction. Addition #2A and 2B shall be located within the same fenced construction zone. The new parking field shall commence July 30th, 2023 and shall be completed no later than August 25th, 2023 (prior to first day ofschool). The majority of interior existing building alterations, installation of new track irrigation and restoration and demolition of existing house trap will take place during the Summer of 2023, June 30th 2023- August 25th 2023. This project requires new electrical, sanitary, and gas services that must be coordinated with the appropriate utility company or town that may requires permits for street cuts and closures. Any and all costs associated with this work will be paid for by the Prime Contractor completing the work. The Prime Contractor for Electric will include and maintain in their bid all Temporary Lighting for temp walkways. Pick up and drop off of students in the morning and afternoon will be cumbersome. No deliveries of any kind will be allowed at those times. All new building tie-ins or existing building Interior work will be completed over the summer and holiday breaks when students are not in the building. See milestone schedule above. If there is hazardous material abatement required prior to any new construction, abatements can only be completed when no students or faculty are in the building. Certain areas of the existing building may be off limits during the summer for school programs. Any work in these areas will be coordinated with the Construction Manager. A Construction Trailer park will be located in the temporary construction zone. Location to be approved by the Construction Manager. The Electrical Prime Contractor is responsible for providing temporary power to all the trailers. The Electrical Prime Contractor is responsible for providing adequate temporary power the all the new construction work areas. The Prime Contractor for General Construction is responsible for providing temporary heating, WIFI to trailers and temporary building enclosures over the winter months.
