See the approved Traffic Control Plan (TCP) attached. 2. Off-Road Test Holes (Figures 1-17) a. Twenty three off-road test holes. b. Twenty two test holes will be drilled to 20 feet BGS using hollow stem auger. c. One test hole will be drilled to 15 feet BGS and a 1-inch PVC standpipe shall be installed to monitor for groundwater levels. This test hole is located at the indicated corner of Muldoon Road and Glenn Highway intersection in Figure 2. d. Traffic control is required for these test holes. See approved TCP attached. e. Four foot by eight foot Geo-mats (six of these) will be needed for the tracked drill rig to use for working on soft and wet ground. Use of a winch to lower the drill rig down the embankment slope may be necessary to access some, if not all, of the drill sites. Winching to get back up the slope may also be necessary. The drill rig shall be fitted with a heavy duty winch and all necessary winching equipment (cables, pulleys, cable connectors, etc). Minor brush cutting may be necessary. General Soil Sampling Methods: 1. Samples will be collected at 2.5 foot intervals from the surface down to ten feet, and then at five foot intervals below ten feet to the bottom of the test hole, or at depths required by the CRM Engineering Geologist. 2. The number, location, and depth of the test holes may be increased or decreased depending on field data that is collected. Contractor shall provide hollow stem auger and tooling to accommodate additional drilling depth beyond what is specified. Surface and Subsurface Drilling Conditions: 1. The soil types for on-road sites are generally expected to be: a. Paved surface, over b. Gravelly sand fill, over c. Sand, gravel, or silt, with cobbles. d.
