This Contract includes the construction of creek bank erosion control measures along one section of Cooksville Creek, beginning at the crossing at Kirwin Avenue, and extending approximately 550m upstream to the next crossing at the Canadian Pacific Railway. The Work generally consists of the construction of armour stone retaining wall structures and toe protection, channel realignment and regrading, bank stabilization via root wads and vegetated rock revetment, and outfall channel construction. Excavating, backfilling, rock placement, channel bypass and dewatering, installation of bioengineering structures, grading, and landscaping are an integral part of the Work. The Work is shown on the Contract Drawings. The Work includes the following for each section of the Contract: 1. prepare construction access, delineate limits of construction with construction fencing and tree protection fencing, and install temporary erosion and sediment control measures, 2. install flow bypass measures in Cooksville Creek and reinstate normal flow conditions following channel stabilization and erosion control works, 3. complete all removals, excavation and grading, including excess channel material and clearing of instream debris, 4. construct erosion control measures including the installation of armour stone retaining wall and channel structures, installation of angular stone, and all other features shown on the Contract Drawings, 5. install brush layer bioengineering along creek banks and install tree and shrub plantings, 6. carry out pathway resurfacing/realignment works, 7. restore and stabilize the site.
