Renovation of an educational facility in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,450-square-foot, four-story above grade educational facility.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited for the following work: Faculty Levering Generator Replacement DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment to replace an existing emergency 80 Kw, 3-phase diesel generator at UCLAs Faculty Levering Apartments, located at 827 Levering Avenue. The work also includes installing an exhaust flue for new generator. The specifications and drawings describe the location, the generator make and model, performance requirements, Fire/Safety requirements and Southern California Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) permitting requirements for the operating process of the emergency generator. Work shall include all electrical, fire-alarm, mechanical, concrete and structural work required to replace the existing generator including all connections to power, air intake, filtering and exhaust systems and related Fire Life Safety equipment. Contractor shall restore the surrounding walls, ceilings, doors, louvers, facade of the generator room, building and adjacent spaces in which the unit resides. Contractor shall be responsible for proper disposal or recycling of the removed existing generator and all chemical waste including all fuels, coolants and lubricants. Contractor shall coordinate, plan, and furnish crane services as required, for the removal of the existing generator and installation of the new generator, as well as the provision of a temporary generator to provide continuous service during work. At no time shall Contractor permit the building to be without back-up electrical service. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Remove the Existing 80 Kw Emergency Generator on Level 2. Remove the Existing Day Tank and the Concrete Pad Under the Day Tank. Remove the Existing Battery Charger Located on the Wall. Install a New 80kw Generator With the Sub Base Fuel Tank in Place of the Existing Generator. Replace or Extend the Existing Pad for the Existing Pad for the New Generator Pre Structural Drawings. Make All Necessary Electrical Connections for the Generator With New Cable and Conduit. A Hose From the Fuel Truck Will Be Directly Connected to the Sub Base Fuel Tank. Install a Fully Functioning Exhaust System Including a Pm Filter, a Silencer, the Existing Vent and a New Vent Up to the Roof. Temporary Power Generator Generator Cables Shall Be Brought Over and Suspended and Properly Attached to the Wall Leading to Room as Power Needs to Provided When Old Unit is Removed and Prior to New Unit Being Installed. No Raceway Needs to Be Provided. Connection Shall Be Provided to Main Fire Alarm Panel at Building Lobby
