Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited for the following work: Faculty Levering Generator Replacement DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment to replace an existing emergency 80 Kw, 3-phase diesel generator at UCLAs Faculty Levering Apartments, located at 827 Levering Avenue. The work also includes installing an exhaust flue for new generator. The specifications and drawings describe the location, the generator make and model, performance requirements, Fire/Safety requirements and Southern California Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) permitting requirements for the operating process of the emergency generator. Work shall include all electrical, fire-alarm, mechanical, concrete and structural work required to replace the existing generator including all connections to power, air intake, filtering and exhaust systems and related Fire Life Safety equipment. Contractor shall restore the surrounding walls, ceilings, doors, louvers, facade of the generator room, building and adjacent spaces in which the unit resides. Contractor shall be responsible for proper disposal or recycling of the removed existing generator and all chemical waste including all fuels, coolants and lubricants. Contractor shall coordinate, plan, and furnish crane services as required, for the removal of the existing generator and installation of the new generator, as well as the provision of a temporary generator to provide continuous service during work.
