CITY OF CASTLE ROCK REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSULTING ENGINEER FOR CITY ENGINEERING AND MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN 2023 THROUGH 2026 The City of Castle Rock ( City ) is interested in retaining the services of an experienced engineer or firm ( Engineer ) to provide city engineering services for the design, engineering, permitting and construction management of multimodal transportation and infrastructure projects. These types of projects could include but are not limited to, streets, sidewalks, parks, trails, boat launch (including in-water work) and any infrastructure such as potable water, sanitary sewer or stormwater projects. Experience in evaluating, problem solving, design, engineering, potable water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities is also required. Examples of scheduled projects are: design and reconstruction of a street (such as Pleasant Hill Road); design and safety improvements to Huntington Ave.; design, engineering and construction of a pedestrian/bicycle sidewalk and other related safety improvements (Huntington Ave., SR411); park/trail improvements (North Trailhead Restrooms, Westside Trail Extension); park master planning; evaluation and mapping of potable water, sanitary sewer and stormwater systems; designing water main improvements and construction management (such as Exit 48 Water Main Extension, Carpenter Road Pump Station & Powell Rd. Water Main); sewer main construction, inspections and repairs; both city-wide and specific projects such as Exit 48 Pressure Sewer Main Extension Project and updates to the General Sewer Plan. The ideal Engineer will have experience in design, engineering and permitting issues with local, state and federal agencies. They will have experience in grant and proposal preparation, project scoping, preparation of improvement plans and specifications, project management, and maintenance needs. The successful firm will be working with the public, volunteers, user groups, city personnel, as well as city council. Any Engineer that wishes to be considered should submit their statement of qualifications and shall include an email address, telephone and fax number, description of the firm including size, location, background and qualifications of the principals, references and experience working in the area of city engineering, design, engineering and permitting. The Engineer shall have a description of how they plan to address the needs of these types of projects and the reason for their special interest in this consulting contract. The City intends to utilize the consulting Engineer for city engineering and transportation and infrastructure projects and may consider using them as necessary with other services related to current projects as well as projects through 2026.
