Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.
This project provides for the replacement of the existing overhead three span rolled steel I-beam bridge carrying S.R. 2018, Indian Creek Road, over the Turnpike mainline with a two-span composite prestressed concrete PA Bulb-Tee beam bridge. The project also includes reconstruction of S.R. 2018 within the limits of the bridge replacement, replacement of Turnpike median barrier and resurfacing the existing Turnpike mainline roadway. Work items include, but are not limited to: 10,595 CY Excavation, Various Classes 866 TON Subbase (No. 2A) 4,634 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixtures, Various Courses, Various Depths 15,689 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface, Various Depths 252 LF Drainage Pipes, Various Sizes 6 EA Inlets, Various Types 175 LF Guide Rail, Various Types 2,077 LF Concrete Median Barrier 2,863 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier 2,555 LF Temporary Concrete Glare Screen 164 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier, Structure Mounted 40 CY Dump Rock, Various Types 247 CY Class AA Cement Concrete 611 CY Class A Cement Concrete 4,872 SF Architectural Surface Treatment 211 CY Class AAAP Cement Concrete 161,600 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 150 LB Stainless Steel Reinforcement Bars 7,750 LF Micropiles 7 Diameter 1,141 LF Prestressed Concrete PA Bulb-Tee Beams Milepost A-52.30 is located approximately 5.0 miles south of the Lehigh Valley Interchange, Exit 56, and is located approximately 8.5 miles north of the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44, in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract. Any questions for this project must be submitted electronically in EBS by registered business partners. Cost Range: $5,000,000.00 - $10,000,000.00 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Complete all work under this contract on or before November 8, 2024
