Renovation of a mixed-use development in Geneva, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

A timelie for award has not yet been established.** For Mechanical Upgrades and Replacement of Exterior Windows and Doors at Various Campuses for the Geneva County School System, Geneva, Alabama, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. A cashiers check or bid bond payable to The Geneva County Schools in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Prime General Contractor Bidders interested in submitting a proposal must pre-qualify. Only prequalified prime general contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to prequalification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid for the Project. Written pre-qualification procedures and criteria are included in the Specification Manual and are available for review at the Office of the Architect. The pre-qualification procedure is intended to identify responsible and competent prime contractor bidders relative to the requirements of the Project and Bid Package. Applicants are encouraged to pre-qualify as early as possible. Documentation required for pre-qualification must be received by the Architect by October 6, 2022. All prospective prime general contractors shall be notified, in writing, by the Architect no later than three (3) days after the deadline for receipt of documentation; as to whether or not they qualify and are therefore approved to submit a proposal for the project. The Owner reserves the right to waive technical errors in applications or abandon the pre-qualification process should the interests of the Owner appear to be promoted thereby. General contractor shall also be responsible for distribution of digital or printed documents to subcontractors, material providers and/or manufacturers or other entities involved in the bid process. Bid Documents must be obtained from the Architect by all General Contractors in order for their bid to be considered. Only prequalified prime general contractors may receive a set of Bid Documents. Bid Documents must be obtained by pre-qualified prime general contractors from the Architect in order for their bid to be considered. Bids must be submitted in duplicate on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owners judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. Nonresident bidders must accompany any written bid documents with a written opinion of an attorney at law licensed to practice law in such nonresident bidders state of domicile, as to the preferences, if any or none, granted by the law of that state to its own business entities whose principal places of business are in that state in the letting of any or all public contracts. Materials incorporated into the Work are exempt from sales and use tax pursuant to Alabama Legislative Act 2013-205. General Contractors and subcontractors interested in bidding are advised to contact the Sales, Use, & Business Tax Division of the Alabama Department of Revenue for information regarding required qualifications for exemption and instructions on implementation of tax exempt process. The Architects response to the Pre-Bid Meeting will become a part of the Contract Documents and will be identified by addendum number. The Geneva County Schools (Local Awarding Authority) Parrish Architecture (Architect) NOTE: For projects exceeding $50,000, this notice must be run once a week for three successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the county or counties in which the project, or any part of the project, is to be performed. If the project involves an estimated amount exceeding $500,000, this notice must also be run at least once in three newspapers of general circulation throughout the state.
