Renovation of an educational facility in Banning, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Banning Unified School District, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will receive sealed bids for the award of a contract for the design and construction of: HVAC Design-Build Services at Nicolet Middle School Kitchen and Cafeteria Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashiers' check payable to the District, cash or a satisfactory Bid Bond in favor of the District, executed by the bidder as principal and a satisfactory surety company as surety, in the amount of no less than five percent (5%) of the Bid Amount. Personal checks will not be accepted. The check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the awarded bidder shall execute the contract in conformity with the contract documents and shall provide the surety bonds, as specified, within five (5) days after notification of the award of the contract to the bidder. Said security shall be paid to the District as liquidated damages should the awarded bidder fail to execute the contract and provide said bonds within five (5) calendar days of award. The schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of eight (8) hours. The Contractor and all Subcontractors shall pay all workers on all work performed pursuant to this Contract not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Bidders shall be responsible for monitoring the website to obtain information regarding any revisions for this solicitation. Failure to respond to required updates may result in determination of a nonresponsive bid. A 100% payment and performance bond will be required prior to the execution of the contract. The payment bond and performance bond shall be in the form and amount set forth in the Contract Documents. In accordance with provisions of Public Contract Code Section 22300, substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any monies withheld to ensure performance under this contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the contractor. All bidders must be properly licensed at time of bid pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 3300 and Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15. Failure to satisfy this requirement shall disqualify bidder. The successful bidder must maintain the license throughout the duration of this contract. Contractor's License Classification Required: B or C-20 & C-10. No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of NINETY (90) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive irregularities in any proposal. RFI/Question Deadline: 9/29/22 - 4:00 p.m.
