Upgrades to Streetlights and Light Poles. The City owns and operates approximately 10,317 street luminaires and maintain approximately 10,152 utility poles associated with these luminaires within the road right of way withing the city of Brantford. To maintain the quality of service and public safety associated with these assets, the city is embarking on a n inspection program that will examine potential for electrical contact incidents and the condition of the existing streetlight and pole inventories. The city would like to minimize the risk posed by the uncertainty regarding the condition of these assets. TIMELINE: A Request For Quotations from Consultants was awarded by the City of Brantford (the City) to prospective respondents to submit non-binding quotations for Streetlight and Pole Condition Assessments as of November 2022. The primary objectives of the project are for the City to utilize the condition data and work forecasts to develop maintenance and capital programs; and to address and identified immediate safety concerns. Field work began fall 2022 and the consultant's report was submitted to the owner spring 2023. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
