Construction is estimated to start sometime in Q4 of this year 2024. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Town seeks to identify a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) who can demonstrate that they have the resources, experience, and qualifications to provide construction management at risk services in connection with design, pre-construction services, and construction of Yeargan Park Phase 1. We expect that the CMAR work will be conducted in two phases: Yeargan Park is a new addition to the Town of Garner's park system, reflecting our efforts to increase the availability of park and recreational space for our growing community. The 72-acre property was acquired in 2019. A master plan process was completed in 2021 with the goal of developing the property in phases for active recreation. Phase 1 will focus on approximately 25 acres of the site. The recreational components of Yeargan Park Phase 1 are four multi-use sports fields, a play area, and a large picnic shelter with restrooms. Phase 1 will also include paved parking, internal road and sidewalks, and a multi-use path along East Garner Road for pedestrian connection to historic downtown Garner, located less than half mile from the site. As the land was formerly used for agricultural purposes, Yeargan Park Phase 1 will also include site and utility work. The Town commissioned the John R. McAdams Company (McAdams) to complete the master plan for the property; this plan was adopted by the Town Council in May 2021. McAdams was also selected as the design consultant and has been working with the Town on this project since then.
