Renovation of a residential development in Saginaw, Michigan. Working plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
**As of October 11 2022, NO BIDS RECEIVED. 1. Roof- Remove the existing roof shingles down to the existing sheathing. Repair any damaged or deteriorated areas of the existing roof sheathing as required. Include all new drip edge and any required flashing components. Roof shingles must have a manufactures warranty of at least 30 years. All work must comply with the manufacturer's specifications & current code requirements. 2. Gutter system - Install a new seamless aluminum gutter system complete. Include all new downspouts with proper extensions. 3. Front porch repair- Remove the existing front porch deck boards down to the existing framing. Remove the existing perimeter guardrail system. Repair any damaged framing components as required. Install all new tongue and groove porch deck boards over the existing framing and properly finish as required. Install all new perimeter guardrails from pressure treated lumber. Finish all work complete to current code requirements. 4. Boller furnace - Install a new energy efficient boiler system complete. Include all required connections and any necessary venting, piping, pumps, valves & radiators. 5. Water heater permit Repair the existing water heater as necessary & secure the required permit for the existing water heater 6. DWV and Water distribution -Remove and install a new PVC Drain Waste vent system for all of the exposed DWV lines in the basement and below any accessible fixtures. Remove the existing water distribution system and install a new PEX Distribution system for all exposed water lines in the basement and for any accessible fixtures. All work must comply with current code requirements. 7. Electrical - Upgrade the existing electrical system to current code requirements. Install a new electrical panel and service entrance cable. Also include the existing garage wiring. Refer to the attached electrical guidelines for further information. 8. Smoke detectors - Install additional smoke detectors as necessary. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: 1. A current State Residential Builder's License must be on file in the Purchasing Office prior to the bid opening. 2. Current completed Contract Compliance forms must be on file in the Purchasing Office prior to the bid opening. INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: 1. Current General Liability coverage for at least $100,000 bodily injury and $200,000 property damage or a combined $300,000 policy limit. 2. Current Workers' Compensation coverage. 3. All certificates must designate the City of Saginaw as the Certificate Holder and must be on file in the Purchasing Office prior to the bid opening. 4, Certificates must be addressed as follows: City of Saginaw, ATTN: Purchasing, 1315 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. 5. All certificates must include a clause stating that the City of Saginaw, as Certificate Holder, will receive a minimum 30-day written notice of cancellation or termination of the policy for any reason. 6. All certificates of insurance must be signed and mailed or faxed directly from the issuing agent. Hand delivered certificates from vendors will not be accepted. The city reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, or parts thereof, and to waive any irregularities which do not materially affect the bid document or otherwise conflict with statute or ordinance. Any rejections of bids shall be made only if there is a sound documented reason for same. An original bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount bid must be submitted with any bid in excess of $100,000. If agreement is for multiple years, each year should be combined to get your total cost. Facsimiles or copies of the bid bond will not be accepted and your bid will be disqualified if submitted.
