*As of February 10, 2023, construction is underway. All bids have been let and awarded. Construction started last Fall 2022. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the opening of the bids. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26, in order to be eligible to submit a Bid for the Project, the Bidder shall be classified by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction in at least one (1) of the following trades: C008 General Construction (The Bidder must be classified in this trade, as well as the trades listed below, or engage properly classified subcontractors): with C029 Structural Steel (Major Trade Subcontractor) C030 Plumbing (Major Trade Subcontractor) C032 HVACR (Major Trade Subcontractor) C047 Electrical (Major Trade Subcontractor) OR C009 General Construction/ Alterations & Additions (The Bidder must be classified in this trade, as well as the trades listed below, or engage properly classified subcontractors): with C029 Structural Steel (Major Trade Subcontractor) C030 Plumbing (Major Trade Subcontractor) C032 HVACR (Major Trade Subcontractor) C047 Electrical (Major Trade Subcontractor). Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond from a surety company licensed to do business in New Jersey, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the base bid submitted, but not in excess of $20,000.00, made payable to the Clifton Board of Education. All bidders and their subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. All bids should be accompanied by a Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act as to the Bidder and all subcontractors. Bids should be accompanied by a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services. The Bidder must include its own Business Registration Certificate and that of all listed subcontractors prior to award. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:2-1 et seq., "The Law Against Discrimination", N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., and Affirmative Action, N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq. No bidder who is on the State Treasurer's or the Federal Government's List of Debarred, Suspended or Disqualified Bidders shall be eligible to bid on this project. The Clifton Board of Education reserves the right to reject non-conforming bids and to reject all bids, in accordance to the law. The contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No contract shall be awarded except by adoption of a formal resolution by the Clifton Board of Education.
