The proposed work requires a manual thinning treatment of forest ingress in the vicinity of the City of Kimberley. The contract is for work on public land in the Kimberley Nature Park / Horse Barn Valley area. The work will occur in conjunction with a FRPA Section 52(1)(b) - Authority to cut, damage or destroy Crown timber and will entail using hand tools, such as chainsaws and brushsaws, to thin and pile the debris. Program Information The Ministry of Forests is working to reduce the risk of wildfire to the City of Kimberley. This contract is part of a larger project to reduce fuel loading in areas adjacent to the City of Kimberley. In addition to high wildlife values, this area has high recreation value for a variety of users and there are a number of significant features and timing restrictions to be considered. Attendance by the Bidder at the Information Meeting is Mandatory. An information meeting for bidders will be held from, located at 0 KM Matthew Ck FSR and will be held in conjunction with the Site Viewing and appropriate Social Distancing measures (minimum 2m apart from one another) will be mandatory at the meeting. The Bidder (or the Bidder's representative with a letter of authorization from the Bidder) must attend for the duration of the Information Meeting and must identify himself or herself to the Ministry representative.
